Location: Central Position: Corporate Continuous Improvement Specialist Reports To: Director of Continuous Improvement Date: 4/2021 JOB SUMMARY

Under the guidance of the Director of Continuous Improvement, the Corporate Continuous Improvement Specialist will be responsible for supporting OBEYA, Flow rooms and execution of their methodology. This position will work with Executive and Site Leadership in monitoring and assisting in projects and programs to support the Strategic vision. Responsibilities and focus include communication of progress, information and key data. This individual contributor is committed to coordination and organization that allows cross-functional teams to stay informed across key initiatives while understanding Strategic prioritization and any shift required due to business conditions.

JOB DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Note: The job functions relate to the job, not the individual)
  • Facilitate OBEYA sessions, prepare & update all documentation and tracking. Educate new hires on the OBEYA process and ensure communication is visible at all levels of the Organization.
  • Ability to mentor and guide Executive Leadership in roles of Sponsorship.
  • Influences Site Leadership alignment and progress through Hoshin Kanri and project management skills
  • Support the Lean systems and Lean Thinking across all levels of the organization including support and corporate functions
  • Track, monitor and report results for key lean initiatives across the organization
  • Assess, coach and provide constructive feedback to teams to strengthen lean competencies and organizational development
  • Serve as a change manager by influencing organizational leadership in the transformation to an Operational Excellence culture
  • Utilize data and KPIs to identify priorities and ensure goals are achieved
  • Facilitate training sessions that will optimize processes, practices, and influence the thinking regarding Problem Solving
  • Evaluate site and departments through the Maturity Matrix as a part of the assessment team. Guide them on the Lean Roadmap and monitor for consistent results.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering is preferred

* Lean practitioner that possesses experience with Toyota Production System or similar industry recognized Lean training and/or certification

  • Background in program or change management or a proven record of developing organizational change is required
  • Proficient with computer applications (Excel, Word, Power Point, Visio, MS Project, and statistical tools such as Minitab or SPC for Excel)
  • Extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Possess personal accountability and be a self-starter with passion for continuous improvement
  • Ability to work effectively and develop relationships with all levels of employees and management including the capability to manage up.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25-35% of the time
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Must meet Pre-employment Drug Screening Requirements and background check.
