WBS, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking aNetwork Engineer(IT Infrastructure Consultant) in ourMilwaukee, Wisconsin location.This position offers flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement (remote/on-site) with time spent in the Milwaukee office.
This is a job family (Associate IT Infrastructure Consultant/ IT Infrastructure Consultant /Senior IT Infrastructure Consultant) posting where the experience of the selected candidate will determine the level offered.
As an IT Infrastructure Consultant for the Network Infrastructure Team, you will work as a member of the team to support the company's IT infrastructure and be involved in both design & engineering and operational activities. You will work on specific functional areas including, but are not limited to: LAN/WAN systems, telecommunications, voice/wire/RF/optical systems, cyber security and firewalls, system software, applications, and databases. Additionally, this team works on Cloud Technologies, such AWS/Azure Network Engineering. The Infrastructure Consultants' responsibilities include design & engineering tasks such as planning, evaluating, designing, and testing of systems, in addition to consulting, budgeting, cost analysis, and vendor analysis.
- Plan, design,and engineer various device and system configurations utilizing prescribed methods.
- Implement, operate, and support various devices and systems utilizing prescribed methods.
- Implement, configure, test, and debug the systems in these functional areas, in addition to consulting, problem resolution, performance and monitoring, and production control.
- Perform routine systems work requiring application of standard techniques and procedures.
- Develop working knowledge of systems, equipment, and supporting applications, and how they support the business.
- Work assignments may include 24x7 coverage.
- May require travel to other locations.
- Bachelor's Degree
- Relevant experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Firewall Certifications (Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Cisco)
- Cisco CCNA/CCNP
- AWS/Azure/GCP Network Administration
