Overview

Outside Rental Sales Representative (Rental) will spend the majority of their time visiting active job sites, manufacturing plants, hospitals, contractors etc and will need to have the ability to Rent, Sell or Recommend equipment needed to complete all temporary rental project needs. The primary purpose of this position is to establish a trusted advisor relationship with customers through various engagement tools and resources.

Responsibilities
  • Contributes to a positive work environment and promotes the vision, mission and values of BMC.
  • Completes all job responsibilities in a safe manner, promotes and champions a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Supports and builds strong relationships with co-workers to include Sales Team, technicians and Product Support Staff.
  • Receives/responds to incoming calls/emails from customers in a timely manner with a sense of urgency.
  • Sales Representative is expected to be "on call" to assist customers 24/7 365 days unless on vacation.
  • Prepare rental forms and contracts; obtain customer signature, purchase orders and other information as required.
  • Assist new customers with charge account and/or CAT Card setups.
  • Act as a resource of information to customers concerning related equipment and services available in the local market area.
  • Ask questions about delivery conditions such as dock heights, narrow streets, etc.; notify customers immediately if there are any delivery delays.
  • Willing to entertain customers and attend events outside of normal business hours as needed for networking and training.
  • Attend department, store and safety meetings.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, rules and regulations in written or verbal form.
  • Meet 100% of established Rental Revenue and Sales goals.
  • Make a minimum of 12 in-person customer meetings per week.
  • Make a minimum of 80 customer activities per month (cold calls, visits/meetings etc.)
  • Attain New Customer Account goals.
  • Assist with collections on past due accounts.
  • 100% of call reports to be completed CRM data base (sale link)
  • 100% of Leads and Opportunities to be recorded in Sale slink.
  • Update all customer saleslink information.
  • Respond to team member calls/pages in a timely manner with a sense of urgency.
  • Complete 100% of required reports and special requests by management within the specified timeframe.
  • Develop a database of customers, companies, competitors, and project information.
  • Use various reporting services, association contacts and other database means to prepare for upcoming projects in the area.
  • Maintain good organization and time management skills for effective territory coverage.
  • Meet with Service Manager when customer damage or service issues demand and address with customers accordingly.
  • Keep a supply of sales tools including company brochures and promotional items on hand and utilize them creatively to meet customer demands.
  • Can show customers how to operate equipment.
  • Be the customer's problem solver, handling follow-up calls and customer problems effectively involving the Rental Manager when necessary.
  • Be easily accessible to customers and staff by cell phone, email, etc.
  • Occasionally deliver rental equipment in conjunction with regular job site visits to maximize company transportation efforts and satisfy urgent customer demands.
  • Involved in local trade associations to network and further develop solid customer relationships.
  • Present sales presentations as required. Verbal, Written or Power Point.
  • Additional responsibilities and functions may be needed to meet customer and organizational needs.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred.
  • Great people skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel, Word, CRM).
  • Previous Inside and/or Outside sales experience. Demonstrated knowledge coupled with relevant work experience will be considered.
  • Understand construction phases, job situations and project conditions to properly time contacting customer with rental product and application suggestions.
  • Knowledge of entire rental fleet and ability to demonstrate equipment whenever appropriate to increase customer awareness of product applications.
  • Positive, solutions-oriented mindset coupled with strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with all levels of employees, management and customers in a positive, professional and effective way.

Working Conditions

  • The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside (non-climate controlled) and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
  • Job requires the ability to call/visit active job sites (Hard hat, Work boots, and Safety equipment on Jobsites).
  • Job requires standing for up to 5 hours per day. (At times, maybe in inclement weather).
  • Job requires driving for up to 6 hours per day. (At times, may have to deliver equipment).
  • Job requires walking for up to 4 hours per day (Some unimproved outdoor construction sites).
  • Job requires climbing (stairs/ladder) up to 15 feet.
  • Job requires standing, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, lifting
  • Seeing, reading, and writing to complete job responsibilities.
  • Heavy use of computer, phone and other forms of technology to complete job responsibilities.
